Fayetteville Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Workshop
DATE: Tuesday, September 16th, 2025
TIME: 8:30 am - 5 pm CST
LOCATION: Fayetteville Public Library (401 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, AR 72701)
The Fayetteville Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Workshop is a collaboration with national nonprofit, Music to Life, Music Cities Convention, community partner The Music Education Initiative, Startup Junkie, Cache, and the Arkansas Music Office. The Workshop provides hands-on training for NW Arkansas-based musicians to create and deliver sustainable, music-driven social change programs. The MCA Workshop takes place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 8:30am-5pm at the Fayetteville Public Library (401 W. Mountain St., Fayetteville, AR 72701). There will also be a Community Showcase with select Workshop participants (participants will be notified of this opportunity separately). Supported by the Harper House Music Foundation and the Levitt Foundation, the MCA Workshop will work with up to 15 musician changemakers who have ideas for building positive, music-driven and sustainable community programs.
The following day (September 17th), an energizing public Community Showcase will highlight the work and music of Workshop artist participants at Prairie Street Live at 8:30 pm. The showcase is produced in collaboration with the Arkansas Music Office. Doors open at 7:30 and free tickets are available here. The concert will also be livestreamed on our Youtube channel - sign up for our Facebook event for reminders.
The MCA is a 'deep-dive' business-skills workshop where artists will receive training in proposal development, identifying good-fit partners and mobilizing community support. Artists will develop a draft outline of their concept, fundraising, and partnership ideas, and an individualized artist changemaker statement. The MCA also connects artists with local community advocates and industry innovators.
Participating musicians will receive a $100 stipend, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and all MCA Workshop materials. In partnership with Music Cities, selected artists will also receive complimentary passes to the Fayetteville Music Cities Convention (worth $399) on September 16-18.
SPACE IS LIMITED. Applications are now open to musicians with ideas for community-based programs; participation is limited to 15 musicians. DEADLINE: August 26th at 11:59 pm.
