The Cincinnati Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Workshop - a full-day incubator for Cincinnati-based musicians - launches on Thursday, November 14th, at Union Hall in collaboration with lead community partner Cincinnati Music Accelerator and national nonprofit Music to Life, with the support of the Haile Foundation. The MCA Workshop will work with up to 15 musician changemakers who have ideas for building positive, music-driven and sustainable community programs. There will be a public Community Showcase the following evening, Friday November 15th, (venue TBD), featuring performances and stories from select artist participants and their ideas for music-driven change in Cincinnati.
The MCA Workshop is a ‘deep-dive’ business-skills session where social change artists receive training in proposal development, identifying good-fit partners, and mobilizing community support. The MCA also connects artists with local community advocates and industry innovators. Finally, the MCA pairs artists with volunteer mentors for post-training technical assistance and program troubleshooting.
Participating artists receive a full package of benefits including: $50 stipend, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and all Accelerator training and materials (estimated total value of $1K).
Applications are now open to musicians with ideas for community-based programs; participation is limited to 15 musicians. Applications close on October 11th at 11:59 PM.
