Pass the Mic: POSTPONED

Pass the Mic: POSTPONED

Bidding will remain open on the auction site through the rescheduled event date. Please stand by for more information about the rescheduling and reach out to team@musictolife.org with any questions.

In light of the current controversy surrounding Buffy Sainte-Marie’s native ancestry, we have made the difficult but important decision to postpone this Wednesday's benefit event, Pass the Mic.

Music to Life is a social justice organization with a diverse constituency of supporters, artists, advocates, and allies. Our decisions, policies and actions are made in the context of everyone we serve and support. To this end, we postpone this event as an act of respect to our widespread network, offering space to process the strong and complex emotions that have arisen with this news.

We have had many thoughtful and necessary conversations over the past several days, these are a testament to the importance behind our work and the validation that supports our decision. As this news unfolds, in keeping with our Values Statement, we will receive whatever truths may be revealed in a spirit of grace.

Thank you to our community of artists, donors and loyal supporters who rallied together to donate and participate in this event and our online auction. We look forward to gathering again soon and continuing the celebration when the time is right.

Pass the Mic: is a benefit event for Music to Life, the national nonprofit, founded by Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul & Mary) and his daughter Liz to connect socially-conscious musicians with the resources needed to realize their bold visions for community change.  Your 501c-3 tax-deductible donations are encouraged and most welcome.
