The Rio Grande Valley Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Workshop - a full-day incubator for RGV-based musicians - will take place on Tuesday, February 18th, at Edinburg Arts, Culture and Event Center in collaboration with the City of Edinburg Cultural Arts and national nonprofit Music to Life, with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The MCA Workshop will work with up to 15 musician changemakers who have ideas for building positive, music-driven and sustainable community programs.

The MCA Workshop is a ‘deep-dive’ business-skills session where social change artists receive training in proposal development, identifying good-fit partners, and mobilizing community support. The MCA also connects artists with local community advocates and industry innovators. Finally, the MCA pairs artists with volunteer mentors for post-training technical assistance and program troubleshooting. Participating artists receive a full package of benefits including: $50 stipend, complimentary breakfast and lunch, and all Accelerator training and materials (estimated total value of $1K).

Applications are now open to musicians with ideas for community-based programs; participation is limited to 15 musicians. DEADLINE: January 20th, 2025, 11:59 pm.
