Music to Life is is seeking motivated college-level interns for its Summer 2026 Internship Program. This virtual, 8–10 week experience (5–10 hours/week) offers a $500 stipend and the opportunity to support socially conscious musicians as they develop sustainable community-rooted programs. Interns will collaborate directly with MtL’s leadership team in specialized tracks including Communications/Social Media, Artist Relations, and Program Development & Evaluation. Intern assignments are based on organizational need and applicant experience. In the past, intern assignments have covered the following operational areas:
Communications: The Communications/Social Media Intern will work closely with our Communications Manager, Shannon, to increase the strategic public presence of Music to Life. Key tasks include:
- Create Blog Posts to be published on MtL’s website and across platforms
- Help draft language for newsletters to donors and supporters
- Research potential sponsors for newsletters and online programming
- Assist with content development (participating in conversations around strategy, creating social media content)
- Review of website language for ease of user experience, possible SEO optimization project
Artist Relations: The Artist Relations Intern will work closely with our Artist Liaison, Kyra, on multiple network building and data collecting initiatives related to our musicians. Key tasks include:
- Pre-screen potential Juried Artists for recommendation
- Monitor various google alerts on topics related to current artist initiatives
- Help identify and recruit underrepresented musicians
Program Development and Evaluation: The Program Intern will work closely with our Director of Programs, Verónica, to help track and analyze key components of our Musician Changemaker Accelerator (MCA) Academies and Workshops as well as the Soundwaves of Solidarity (SOS) Master Class series. Key tasks include:
- Analyze post-program survey feedback and online metrics as related to recent MCAs
- Review Academy class and SOS Master Class recordings and note learning exchanges for testimonials and for the development of a video library of resources for our artist network
- Produce a list of future presenters for the SOS Master Classes
