Cecilia Villar EljuriMusic inspires us all. The vibrations ripple through the space between us. Eljuri is constantly exploring new sounds and these reflections. They intersect somewhere between the cultures that she was raised in and the countries of her heritage; Spain, Lebanon, Ecuador, and the United States. Steeped in her greatest passion of songwriting, she welcomes you to join her in raising your voice towards positive change.

As a revered multi-instrumentalist, Eljuri developed hypnotic and undeniable melodies that are familiar and foreign all at once. With heavy guitar-driven grooves; rock, Latin, middle-eastern, reggae, funk and dance that wrap around stories of resilience, shelter, our borders and the planet, she empowers the Latinx community and champions for human rights.

Touted as one of the top Latina guitar players in the world, Eljuri celebrates ‘Reflexión’, her fifth studio album and is touring with her power-trio throughout 2023 in the US, Canada, Mexico and the Netherlands. As a musical ambassador for Immigrant and Women’s Rights, Eljuri has her guitar strings and voice on the pulse of some of the most-timely issues that reverberate in our communities. Audiences engage with her memorable bilingual message of protest and universal truths.

Eljuri has released five critically acclaimed solo albums: ‘En Paz’ (2008), ‘Fuerte’ (2012), ‘La Lucha’ (2016), ‘Resiste’ (2019) and ‘Reflexión’ (2022). In-depth interviews about her career have been featured on PRI, NPR, Voice of America, NBC Latino, La Jornada, Revista Kuadro, Pacifica Radio, and the Women of Rock Documentary. Her songs have won awards from the Billboard Songwriting Contest, the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest and the Independent Music Awards all while charting in the Top Ten on Worldbeat and Latin radio in the US, Canada and Mexico. She has been touring internationally for over a decade.
