Jordan Occasionally

#JordanOccasionally or JD is an Independent Dance Pop/RNB Artist and Activist with over 1.5 Million streams, 5.6 Million likes on Tik Tok, and 120,000 followers across social media. Jordan Occasionally is a touring global artist with a grassroots fanbase from Memphis,TN to the world. Their album “Indigo” solidified their route to the top. This album, which was an homage to their identity as a Young Black Queer Femme, opened up doors that haven’t closed yet. Jordan Occasionally brought the soul to the Genius Open Mic Stage, with their single “If You Want My Love”, in July of 2022. With a cosign from Artist and Entrepreneur, Keke Palmer, Jordan Occasionally was one of the first independent artists to be spotlighted on
Key TV’s Independent Artist Series .

An ambassador of Memphis, TN, Jordan Occasionally was also a recipient of the Music Export Memphis Grant which provided the funding and opportunity to represent the city at Toronto’s NXNE Festival in June of 2023. Jordan Occasionally was also the Emcee for Tone Memphis’s iconic “Juneteenth Family Reunion” in June of 2023. Their music has been featured on several editorial playlists such as Spotify’s Fresh Finds Indie, Pop and RNB, and Tidal’s Black Artist and Indie RNB Playlists.They have also recently been published in an essay on Performance and Activism from the UK. Jordan Occasionally has lead talks on the intersection of activism and artistry at institutions such as the Ivy League, “Rhodes College”, and their Alma Mater, “University of Memphis”.

A loved community organizer (nominated for the Trailblazer Award with Focus Midsouth in August 2023 for co-founding the mutual aid group “Barter Up”), Jordan Occasionally also won the University of Memphis’s first ever Student Communicator Award in 2021 for protests organized on behalf of the late Breonna Taylor and Tony McDade. They currently serve as an Artist Advisor on the Music Export Memphis Council Board with phenomenal new music and cultural storytelling to come.
