Lady J Huston

St. Louis Blues Sensation - Lady J Huston (pronouced Houston), is a multi-award-winning vocalist, trumpeter, and songwriter, intertwining Soul, Jazz, and Gospel. Graduating Valedictorian, she accepted several academic and music scholarships including Howard University, eventually earning a B.S.B.A. Degree. As a child dancer, she was managed and performed on shows with her song-stylist/mother, Loyce Huston. Between college at 18 years old, she sang with R&R Hall of Famer Johnnie Johnson, then toured as trumpeter with Blues legend, Albert King rising to music director. They performed alongside greats such as B.B. King, Etta James, & Robert Cray.

Residing in Las Vegas for 25 years, she became the LV Queen of Blues and inducted into their ECE Hall of Fame. In 2018, "The Lady J Huston Show" debuted at St. Louis’ National Blues Museum. Her “Albert King Alumni Tribute Show” headlined at the Music at the Intersection festival alongside Erykah Badu, Buddy Guy, Gary Clark, Jr., and others. Lady J’s performances and new album are receiving rave reviews and awards that includes a 2023 Blues Blast Magazine Music Award.

Lady J’s medical advocacy led to feature stories on ABC World News Tonight and other media. Her genealogical advocacy founded “The Black O’Kelleys Family Association, Inc.” in Ferguson, MO with feature stories joined by her enslaved gg-grandmother’s owners’ white descendants.
