Sasha Klare-Ayvazian
Sasha Klare-Ayvazian is an indie-folk artist in Austin, Texas, who integrates environmental and social justice themes in his music with poetic, anecdotal lyrics over warm guitars and string sections. Sasha founded Live Oak Productions, a program dedicated to shifting the focus of the modern-day music industry to combat climate change and bring different demographics to the same cause. His work led to collaboration with Urban Roots, a nonprofit that uses food and farming to transform the lives of young people. Sasha says MtL's goals "feel natural and organic to who I am." He is fiscally sponsored by Austin Creative Alliance and received support in writing grants, marketing, and program development. He continues to seek funding to support his environmental justice work, and as CDC guidelines allow, he looks forward to returning to his original (pre-COVID) focus by using live music through Live Oak Productions to engage communities in action against climate change.
