Steven Arrowtopknot

Steven Arrowtopknot, from Browning, Montana, is a musician and cultural advocate with over 20 years of experience in powwow and round dance music. Steven creates, records, mixes, and masters music for himself and many other Native American artists. His hard work and talent earned him a Grammy nomination with Young Spirit, showing his dedication to preserving Native American musical traditions. Growing up with many challenges, Steven found comfort and inspiration in music from an early age. His mother’s songs and the rhythms of Sundance ceremonies sparked a deep love for music that has guided his career. Despite many early struggles, Steven's determination led him to learn the skills and get basic equipment needed to produce high-quality music that connects with both modern and traditional listeners.

Steven's commitment to his community goes beyond his music. He fights for the rights of Native artists, making sure they are paid fairly and keep control over their work. As one of the elected Governors of the Northwest Recording Academy Chapter, he has a chance at greater influence on the music industry and supports all musicians.
Steven wants to provide better opportunities and resources for young Native musicians, promote healing and well-being through cultural activities, and keep the rich traditions of his heritage alive. His music is a way to express his culture and empower his community, leaving a lasting impact for future generations.
