Kareen King
Kareen King, founder of The Golden Experience, is a compassionate and creative professional dedicated to enhancing the lives of aging adults and their care partners. As a Registered Drama Therapist, Keynote Speaker, and Creative Engagement Specialist, Kareen cultivates cultures that love, validate, and engage individuals in supportive living. She's a singer-songwriter and musician and recorded two albums that elevate those with dementia, the dying, and the lonely. Kareen is also a freelance nature photographer, professional storyteller, and puppeteer, using these art forms to connect and inspire. She also authored "Engage! 28 Creative Enrichment Experiences for Older Adults" (ArtAge Pub.) as a tool for caregivers, activity directors, and therapeutic arts professionals. Kareen envisions supportive living communities as magnets for connection, rather than places to be feared or avoided, where people of all ages cultivate meaningful friendships, and loneliness is reduced. Her mission is to use her original music and storytelling to foster love and belonging and to build bridges between those who reside in supportive communities that provide aging services and the outside world. Kareen and her husband Jeff are proud parents of five grown children and five grandchildren.
