Marcella Simien

Marcella Simien, a Louisiana- born artist, a ninth-generation Creole and daughter of two-time GRAMMY winning Zydeco legend Terrance Simien. Her music captures her deeply personal journey of self-discovery, spirituality and identity. Known for her genre-defying sound that blends traditional Creole influences with contemporary production.

Her most recent album continues her mission to inspire healing and empowerment through music. She performed every instrument and vocal part herself and wrote every song on the album. Simien became a certified yoga instructor in 2022 and has been actively fusing music with yoga offerings to her community locally. She feels strongly that Restorative Yoga and breathwork can change lives and create a healthier environment to live in. Simien says “I’m here to help you open your heart, expand your mind and stand in your power.”

Over her 15 year-career, Marcella has shared her artistry with thousands of audiences in the U.S. and abroad. In 2023, Marcella performed on a song for Disney that now plays on the new amusement park ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. She was invited to South America to be a part of Colombo Americano’s cultural exchange program Blues and Folk Fest, with a series of public performances and workshops in Colombia. A featured vocalist on the GRAMMY winning album Dockside Sessions, Best Regional Roots Album of 2013. She has 3 albums out under Marcella Simien and 3 releases previously under Marcella & Her Lovers. In 2019 wrote, recorded and toured with Guy Davis in the project Gumbo, Grits & Gravy.
