Evan Greer
Evan Greer is a trans and queer activist, writer, and musician based in Boston. She's the director of digital rights group Fight for the Future and writes regularly about the intersection of tech policy and human rights for the Washington Post, Time, NBC News, Wired, and CNN. Her last album Spotify is Surveillance was released by Don Giovanni Records and Get Better Records and featured by NPR, Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. While Greer is perhaps best known for her work as an organizer, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine calls her a "heck of a guitar player," and her recordings have evolved from riot-folk roots to a more layered indie pop sound, with an anarcho-punk soul. Over the years she's shared stages and collaborated with Pete Seeger, Talib Kweli, Against Me!, Ted Leo, Speedy Ortiz, Anjimile, The Blow, Eve 6, Chumbawamba, Ezra Furman, Immortal Technique, Amanda Palmer, and Billy Bragg.
