Óscar Salamanca

Óscar Salamanca, born in 1987, has built a diverse career in music, visual arts, and digital media since age 7. He studied technical drawing and design at the Technical Central Institute of LaSalle, where he also began his music instruction in classical guitar and theory. Óscar performed with the prestigious OSJC vocal ensemble alongside the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.

In 2003, he debuted on an album with the Andean music group Llacta Huambra, gaining recognition in the music community. After graduating in 2006, he pursued bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Performance at the National Pedagogical University. Consequently, he became a sought-after musician in Bogotá, touring with various artists and performing at national music festivals.

Óscar continued his musical career in Cincinnati, Ohio, performing on multiple instruments and collaborating with local groups. In 2016, he founded La Fórmula Music Productions to promote Latin American culture and became the music director at River of Life Church. His theatre involvement began in 2017, performing in Spanish and English productions. Óscar also formed Cincinnati's first Mariachi and Colombian-Venezuelan bands. Later on, he joined the Voyager Jazz Ensemble. His recent work includes composing and producing music for theatre. Óscar believes "art, as a powerful tool of education, brings communities together."
