JennyRebecca

Opera singer and Berlin-based singer-songwriter JennyRebecca Ronning has earned praise from institutions such as the New York Times, where critic Anne Midgette wrote that “JennyRebecca showed a lovely, smooth voice that matched her poise.” An artist of uncommon range and depth, she moves fluidly between classical performance, contemporary songwriting, and trauma-informed somatic voice and creativity work designed to bring people back home to themselves. Her work has been supported by organizations such as Musikfonds Deutschland. Beyond her performance career, JennyRebecca is a passionate advocate for creative wellness, emotional resilience, and the transformative power of authentic expression. She is the founder of the Artists Rising Collective & Podcast, created in response to her own healing journey and a desire to offer the guidance she wished she had received as a young artist. Her programs explore themes of creative recovery, healing perfectionism, nervous-system regulation, finding one’s authentic voice, and developing a heart-led artistic life.

Her forthcoming EP, Courage to Be (releasing December 8, 2025), was created in collaboration with some of today’s most iconic musicians—including Jon Button, bassist for The Who; Matt Flynn, drummer for Maroon 5; and Pete Min, the acclaimed producer and audio engineer known for his work with Feist, Andrew Bird, and Shawn Mendes. The project was recorded between Berlin and Los Angeles, blending sonic worlds with emotional honesty and artistic fearlessness. JennyRebecca has also recorded with Grammy-nominated and award-winning producers such as Charlie Peacock (The Civil Wars, Switchfoot), Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor), and Nikko Weidemann (Babylon Berlin), and appeared as a featured singer and actress in the international blockbuster film Ludwig II (2012).

As a Juried Artist with Music to Life, she works at the intersection of music and social change. Her teaching background includes serving as a Teaching Artist for The Metropolitan Opera Guild, five years as an adjunct professor of voice at Simpson University, and a facilitator of workshops and theatre groups for diverse communities—from inner-city Brooklyn and the Bronx, to Middle Eastern refugee communities in Berlin, to women and families at the refugee camp in Lesvos, Greece. This February she will be a featured speaker and teacher at Dartmouth and NYU on “Refuge and Resilience,” sharing insights from her work with refugees and guiding participants in Somatic Singing and self-compassion practices to cultivate an inner place of refuge. Across all her work, JennyRebecca carries a singular mission: to help people become more fully alive and more fully themselves through the power of voice, music, and creativity—tools that can heal, transform, and help us thrive.
