Jessica Rodriguez

Jessica Rodriguez is a queer Latine multidisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter, cultural curator, and human rights advocate based in Chicago. As a gun violence survivor, Jessica uses art and music as tools for collective healing and social change. She is the founder of Museica, a creative studio dedicated to accessible arts programming, and the creator of Noche De Musas, a cultural brand that highlights marginalized voices through music, art, and dialogue.
Jessica has curated multiple Noche De Musas events and was invited to curate and perform at the Sor Juana Festival at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Her programs focus on equity and representation for Latine, women, queer, and POC artists—creating safe and affirming spaces for expression and advocacy.
As lead vocalist and guitarist for The Braided Janes, a queer, femme-fronted Latin alternative band, Jessica has earned recognition from NPR, PBS, and Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The band’s socially conscious music has been described by The Advocate as “one of the best Latin alternative bands from Chicago” and has reached audiences across the U.S. and internationally.Through her multidisciplinary work, Jessica seeks to amplify overlooked voices and build cultural platforms where creativity and justice intersect.
